Applying for the Extension of RA Entry Visa

To extend the entry visa, a foreign national or their authorized representative may apply in person (without online appointment) to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (14 Tairov Street) before the expiration date of the issued entry visa, by submitting a visa extension application form indicating the reason for extending the stay in Armenia.

The following persons may apply to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the extension of their entry visa:

  • foreign nationals
  • persons recognized as stateless by a foreign state

Required documents

To apply for an extension of entry visa, the applicant shall submit:

  • passport,
  • one (colored) photo measuring 35 mm x 45 mm,
  • document attesting the payment of relevant state duty.

Service fee and Payment procedure

To extend RA entry visa, a fee of 500 AMD shall be paid for each day of extension. Payment may be made on the spot via POS terminal, online, or at any bank by transferring the amount to the following treasury account number: 900005162111100.

Processing time and procedure

RA entry visa is extended on the day of application.

RA entry visa is extended free of charge in the following cases:  

  • minors (persons under the age of 18),
  • close relatives of a citizen of the Republic of Armenia (spouse, child, father, mother, sister, brother),
  • foreign students studying at educational institutions of Armenia, as well as teaching staff and lecturers,
  • persons arriving in Armenia to provide humanitarian or technical assistance,
  • foreign specialists and their family members invited to work by the President of the Republic of Armenia, the National Assembly, or the Government,
  • holders of diplomatic passports entering Armenia, as well as staff members of diplomatic missions and consular institutions of foreign states in Armenia and their family members,
  • official persons and delegation members visiting Armenia at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, or the Human Rights Defender,
  • foreign citizens of Armenian descent who reside permanently in a foreign country where an emergency situation has arisen threatening the life or health of the population,
  • close relatives of a person who has been granted refugee status and is arriving in Armenia.
