Citizens of EAEU member states who work in the Republic of Armenia are exempt from acquiring a work permit in Armenia and may acquire a certificate confirming their legal residence in the Republic of Armenia. This certificate is necessary for exercising their rights in Armenia (for example, to cross the border without incurring administrative liability when staying for more than 180 days).

Family members of citizens of EAEU member states who work in the Republic of Armenia may acquire a statement confirming legal residence on the basis of the working family member’s certificate and for the same period of validity as the latter’s certificate.
To acquire refugee status or asylum, it is necessary to submit an application in the prescribed form. After registration at the Migration and Citizenship Service, an interview will be conducted with the individual based on their personal circumstances in order to verify their identity and acquire information about the reasons for leaving their country.
